With Stourwater (com11), new-dot-com further hones his distinct club and sound system aesthetic on the Comfortnoise label. Rather than merely navigating genres, he uses fragments of dubstep, techno, garage, and amapiano as a skeletal framework for expansive sonic landscapes. The true momentum, however, unfolds in the spaces between: a fine mesh of raw textures, dubbed-out artifacts, and controlled noise that binds the tracks together. This is music not for passive consumption, but for physical immersion – a deliberate focus on sound and movement in the immediate moment.

Stourwater marks the launch of a three-part series born from a collaboration with Swiss artist Sven Egert. A specialist in visual depth, Egert uses diverse materials and pigments to construct vibrant forms and layers. His works eschew specific messaging; they prioritize the raw impact of the medium, leaving viewers to their own internal perception. Each cover image offers a microscopic glimpse into his pieces, revealing organic warmth and a spatial depth that mirrors the tracks’ sonic architecture. To create the cover for com11, Egert reimagined his piece Slow Core (2026).

This aesthetic carries through to the titles. Stourwater, Magnus Donners, Fettiplace-Jones, and Aylmer Conyers are evocative names drawn from Anthony Powell’s (1905-2000) cycle, A Dance to the Music of Time. Also chosen for their distinct phonetic textures, these names echo the auditory landscapes they title. While the novels themselves may be rooted in another era, their structure remains avant-garde – a linguistic tapestry of subtle observations, chance encounters, and recurring motifs.

As the first building block of a collaborative Gesamtkunstwerk, this release assembles people, sounds, images, and language into a unified whole, designed to expand into new formats as the series evolves.
