kryptic minds made this remix of loefah's classic "root" in late 2008. at this point they had already left the drum & bass-scene behind and had started producing music at 140 BPM, after having heard only a few dubstep tunes. developing their own sound involved experiments such as making a snare by hitting a stick against a tree and recording it on a mobile phone. their productions quickly caught youngsta's attention, who linked them up with loefah soon after, making way for their first release on swamp81. since then, they have established themselves among the most renowned artists of the dubstep scene. this collosal root vip is a good example of their incredible production skills and their distinctive sound, best described as: "deep dubstep with a deft understanding of the tensions and contradictions buried within it."
