Comfortnoise is dedicated to leftfield bass and dub research: inspired by techno, bass music, foundation dubstep, garage, grime, roots reggae, digital dub, steppers, dancehall, and amapiano.
comfortnoise proudly makes a contribution to zweikommasieben #10 with the column basslines: poltergeists, featuring simon reynolds’ retromania (faber & faber, 2011) and mark fisher’s ghosts of my life (zero books, 2014).
it is accompanied by an illustration that has been specifically created by the zürich based streetartist sierpinski ‘stvan’ triangle (see comfortnoise podcast 039-0413).
although definitively not suitable for philistines, we recommend this book because it contains plenty of fine observations, illuminative insights & useful sociological concepts regarding the cultural value of vinyl records.

comfortnoise ploy is live sonic carpet weaving somewhere between dubtechno & dub at its roots: with two turntables, a microphone, a legendary vintage roland space echo re-201, an elektron octatrak sampling/sequencing device, a multi-band radio, a dub siren & other useful gear to do the dub.

guyus & new.com are busy djs, promoters, radio hosts and vinyl freaks from zürich, both dedicated to underground bass music. together they run the night dubexmachina, which in automn 2012 celebrated its 5th birthday.
as dxm soundsystem they often play back to back sets, selecting the gems of their record collections, stretching from early dubstep to today’s bass music, including grime, garage, uk funky, jungle, house, techno and reggae/dub: vinyl pressure!
