scuba is the alias of paul rose, founder of hotflush recordings. his early shows on pirate radio in london led to a close involvement with the beginnings of the scene that became known as dubstep. the debut hotflush 12” hit the street in late 2003 and the label has gone on to become one of the most distinctive and innovative dubstep labels. the scuba sound has developed into a fusion of towering bass, electronic melodies and intense snares. since 2005 he has released a slew of innovative tracks that defy the norm of the main-stream dubstep scene, on hotflush and other labels including soul jazz.
